Center for Multiphase Environmental Research

The Department of Crop & Soil Sciences is a participant in the Center for Multiphase Enviornmental Research and the associated NSF-IGERT program for training graduate students to solve complex environmental problems.  The photo (right) shows Jim Harsh, Marcie Tiffany, and Kholoud Marshal with a poster of research conducted under a Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates program.  Marcie, an undergraduate in environmental chemistry, and Kholoud, a soil science Ph.D. candidate, received a $50 prize for their summer project.  Their project involves radionuclide transport in contaminated soils.
